Organizational Announcements & Celebrations:

Meet Heather, Our New Medical Director!

Heather has been an animal lover her entire life, growing up surrounded by dogs and now sharing her home with four rescue pups, including Scout, a foster fail from North Texas Australian Shepherd Rescue (NTASR). Her love for animals doesn’t stop at dogs—her family also includes 10 chickens, 5 goats, 3 donkeys, 2 pigs, and a cow!

Originally from Idaho, Heather now lives in Mansfield with her husband. After adopting Scout, she was drawn to NTASR's mission and began volunteering. She’s passionate about helping not only Aussies but any animal in need, making her a perfect fit for our team. We're thrilled to have her as our new Medical Director!

Meet Stephanie!

Stephanie has a remarkable track record of fostering over 30 dogs (38 this up coming weekend) in just the past year and a half. Her primary focus has been on nursing mothers and their precious puppies, providing them a safe and nurturing environment during their critical early stages.
Stephanie shares her home with her Fiancé Carl, 4 beloved dogs, each adding their unique flair to her life, as well as a delightful cat named Emily. Stephanie’s Fiancé Carl is a steadfast supporter of her rescue endeavors, and together they cherish a deep love for Disney. In Fact, they are getting Married at Disneyworld in February 2025.

Stephanie's commitment to rescue work is driven by her heartfelt belief that every dog deserves a second chance at happiness. For her, being on the admin side of rescue is more than a role; it’s a fulfilling opportunity to combine her passion for animal welfare with her skills in organization and advocacy. The joy she experiences in nurturing these vulnerable animals and helping them find their forever homes fuels her passion and gives her a profound sense of purpose.

NTASR News:

If anyone can help foster the Arkansas Seven, we are planning a trip to bring some of them back this weekend and need fosters for them. There are 3 litters of puppies and Mom's as well that will need a safe place to land until the puppies are vetted and weaned. Please reach out to us directly to Shawn or Samantha.

**Don't forget we have introduced the "Foster Punchcard"! Foster three dogs for at least 30 days each before the end of 2024, and you'll earn a 10% Family & Friend discount on any adoption. The discount must be redeemed within one year (2025)**

Please Remember:

  • Puppies <12 Weeks: No interaction with outside dogs or house guests.
  • Going out of town? Please leverage the Foster Facebook Group to see if another Foster is able to keep your foster while you are gone.
  • Meet and Greets: Arrange only through us. All interested parties must have an approved application on file.
  • Vet Appointments: If you can't make it, please inform us 24 hours before. Follow all pre & post-op instructions (no food after 8 PM the night before or the morning of surgery; medication can be given until 10 PM but not on the morning of surgery).
  • Public Outings: Fully vaccinated dogs can visit pet stores but not public dog parks. Ensure they always wear a collar with a rescue tag, harness, and leashes. Children under 12 should not pet foster dogs in public for safety & liability reasons.

Thank you for keeping our foster dogs safe!

We want to hear👂from you!
