🐾 From Hold to Go: July’s Rescue Rush Begins
This month, the crates fill fast, the clock ticks louder, and the need? It’s urgent.
June came in quiet—but it wasn’t still.
Behind the scenes, the wheels were turning: fosters prepping, vet appointments stacking up, and intake lists growing longer. While many of our June dogs didn’t officially arrive until the end of the month, the demand didn’t wait. And neither did we.
By early July, our bank account was sitting on empty.
But the dogs in our care? They still needed us.
We took in 26 dogs in June. 22 found homes.
And some of the dogs we said yes to… came with big needs and bigger price tags.
🐾 Eli, a stray running loose for over a month, was finally trapped—and tested positive for heartworms.
🐾 Momo, a senior corgi whose family had to return to Korea, was dumped at the shelter. Despite being 7 years old, he needed it all: neuter, seizure bloodwork, and a full dental. Total cost? Over $3,000.
🐾 The Garfield litter, 8 Aussie mix puppies from East Texas, came tumbling in with squishy bellies and wild eyes—each needing deworming, vaccinations, and care.
🐾 And let’s not forget Copper Longtail, our accidental kitten intake (and honorary Aussie in disguise).
June also brought sunshine moments:
✨ Puppy Yoga on June 1 was a hit—many of the Spice Litter found their forever families that very day.
✨ Walter, the star of the show, went viral and was adopted within weeks.
✨ We chipped and checked dozens of dogs at the “Check Your Chip” event with Hearty Paws Dane Rescue and Uptown Pup. Free microchips. Real impact.
We held the line in June.
But July? It’s already overflowing—with crates, commitments, and community calls for help.
🚨 Incoming: 80+ Dogs Need Us — And Fast 🚨
The inbox pinged in early July.
80+ dogs.
And no one else was stepping up, they needed their next chapter.
We’ve done this before—stepped into the chaos. Organized the vetting. Rallied the fosters. But this one? It’s big. And it’s urgent.
We’ve committed to the first wave: 14 puppies and ~10 adults arriving in just five days. And to pull it off?
We need two things:

That’s the estimated cost just for basic vetting — vaccines, exams, preventatives, microchips, deworming, and spay/neuters. And that doesn’t even touch medical emergencies, meds, or specialized care.
