November was a whirlwind of wagging tails, heartwarming reunions, and incredible milestones for our rescue. Thanks to your continued support and dedication, we’ve been able to change so many lives this month—not only for our pups but also for the humans who love them. Get ready to dive into November’s highlights, including adoptions, rescues, recovery stories, and exciting events. Let’s take a look back at what we accomplished together!
November Highlights & News:
November was a month of gratitude and growth for NTASR. We welcomed 16 new dogs into our rescue family and celebrated the adoption of 34 pups into loving homes. Among our most heartwarming moments, Hooey, our resilient double merle, made incredible strides in his recovery—his once-fragile coat is now starting to fill in beautifully, a true testament to the power of care and compassion.
Our November adoption events were a huge success! The month kicked off with Puppy-paw-looza, hosted by our wonderful friends at Uptown Pup, followed by adoption events at Hollywood Feed locations in McKinney and Allen. These events were filled with joyful moments, wagging tails, and families finding their perfect companions.
We were also reminded of the incredible power of microchipping when Anzu, a dog who traveled all the way from the San Francisco area, was reunited with her family thanks to her microchip. Moments like these are a testament to the life-changing impact of this simple yet essential tool.
While November brought us many joys, it also came with some heartache. We mourned the loss of Sonic, one of our foster pups, who touched our lives deeply during his time with us. Sonic will always hold a special place in our hearts.
We had a big win with Sunny, who visited a specialist after concerns of ectopic ureters were raised during her spay surgery earlier this year. Thankfully, she received a clean bill of health and will not require any corrective surgery—truly a blessing for this sweet girl!
Adding to the excitement, our lovable pair Jo & Mo stole the spotlight in a BarkBox promotion and were quickly adopted afterward! Their charm and antics are now lighting up their new forever homes.
In other news, we’ve partnered with talented tattoo artist Megan, a passionate dog lover and recent adopter, for a tattoo fundraiser running through the end of December. It’s a creative way to support NTASR and celebrate your love for dogs!
As we reflect on this busy, impactful month, we’re reminded how important each of you is to our mission. From fostering and adopting to attending events or simply sharing our stories, you make all of this possible. Thank you for being part of the NTASR family—we can’t wait to see what December brings!

Foster - This time of year brings an influx of owner surrenders and dogs in shelters, and we’re doing everything we can to help. Unfortunately, we have a growing list of owner surrenders we can’t currently assist because we simply don’t have enough fosters. That’s where you come in!
If you’ve ever thought about fostering, now is the perfect time to join our NTASR Foster Family. Fostering is a short-term commitment with a life-changing impact—not just for the dogs but for you, too. We’d love to chat with you and share more about how you can open your heart and home to a dog in need.
To make fostering even easier, we recently rolled out a Foster Manual filled with helpful tips and answers to common questions. It’s our way of ensuring every foster feels confident, supported, and ready to make a difference.
We’re also excited to partner with Don’t Forget to Feed Me, a wonderful organization whose mission is to supply pet food to local agencies in support of pet owners while raising awareness about pet food insecurity. Together, we’re working to keep pets and their people together—a goal we’re passionate about at NTASR.
Throughout December, we’ll have donation boxes placed at various spots across the Metroplex to collect food for this important cause. Keep an eye on our social media for updates and details about where to find these boxes and how you can contribute. Your generosity will help struggling pet owners provide for their furry family members and reduce the heartbreaking need for surrenders.
