Every week, one lucky dog gets to tell their story—straight from their paws. These aren’t just updates; they’re little love letters, full of gratitude, hope, and a peek into the second chances you make real. 🐾

This week, meet Layla—a sweet, shy sheltie whose early days were quiet and uncertain, rescued from a puppy mill. Thanks to her loving foster, gentle grooming, and much-needed vet care, she’s slowly discovering what it feels like to be safe, loved, and… a little sassy. ✨💖

Now a Letter from Layla

✨💖 Hi, it’s me—Layla! 💖✨

I’ve always been a bit shy… okay, a LOT shy. The world used to feel huge and scary. When I first arrived, my fur was tangled, my skin sore, and everything felt overwhelming. But my foster momma? Total hero. ✂️🛁 She clipped, scrubbed, and pampered me until I could finally feel… lighter, safer, and cared for.

Then came the vet day. 💉✨ Teeth cleaned, cyst treated, vaccinations done… I might’ve been nervous, but I survived—and oh, did I earn my rewards. 🍟 Yes, waffle fries. Chick-fil-A waffle fries. Treat of champions, I tell ya.

Now, after a month in rescue, I’m finally starting to feel like ME. I nap (in the biggest dog bed of course), I play (tiny games at first, but watch out, foster siblings—this girl’s got moves now! 🐾💃), and I even strut a little like I own the place. My coat shines, my skin feels amazing, and my confidence? Let’s just say it’s sparkling ✨.

I’m still a soft, shy girl at heart—but the shy girl is growing into a sassy, classy little glam queen. 💅💖 Every day I discover a little more joy, a little more play, and a whole lot of love. And I know, with my foster and the humans helping me, I’m finally learning what it means to feel safe, happy, and… truly at home.

Dog Day 2025 Was a HIT!

Dog Day 2025 was one for the books. 🐾💖 Huge love + gratitude to Amanda, The Barkday Planner and her team, for planning and pulling off such an epic PAWty at Backyard Dallas — we were just lucky enough to be a small part of the magic. ✨

Because of all the amazing humans (and pups!) who came out, this event raised over $10,000 benefitting North Texas Australian Shepherd Rescue and the Live Like Roo Foundation. 🤯 That’s real impact for dogs + families in our community, and it wouldn’t have happened without Amanda’s vision and the incredible vendors, judges, and sponsors who showed up big. 🙌
