Each week, you’ll receive one diary entry — told from the perspective of a dog whose life was changed because of you. These are not just stories. They are thank-you letters, reminders of why your support matters, and glimpses into the second chances you make possible.
We’ll share one Rescue Diary every week until Giving Day. Our hope? That when September 18 arrives, you’ll feel deeply connected to the lives you’ve touched — and inspired to help us do more for the next happy tail.
This week’s Rescue Diary comes from Daisy, a gentle Cardigan Corgi whose life in a puppy mill was measured in litters, not love—until the day everything changed.
Now a Letter from Daisy
✨ It’s me, Daisy.
If you had met me just a few weeks ago, you might have thought I didn’t want to be here anymore. I hid in the bathroom. I didn’t want to eat. I didn’t want to go outside. My body felt wrong… and so very tired.
I had spent my whole life in a puppy mill, having litter after litter. No soft beds. No kind hands. Not even one toy of my own. By the time the rescue brought me in, I was worn down in a way that sleep couldn’t fix. I was so thin my ribs showed, but my belly was huge. Everyone thought more puppies were on the way.
But at the vet, the truth came out: I wasn’t carrying life anymore—I was fighting for my own. My belly was full of infection and fluid, so much that it was crushing my heart and lungs. The doctors said I didn’t have days…I only had hours.
You weren’t in the room when they rushed me into surgery… but you were the reason it happened. Because of you, the rescue could say “yes” without hesitation.
I made it through that scary night—and now? Oh boy, I zoom! I wag! I play! 🎉
My foster mom keeps whispering that my forever family is already waiting for me. 💕 My transport is being planned, and soon I’ll have my very own bed, toys, and a family that loves me endlessly.
Oh—and the BEST part? I have not one, but TWO corgi brothers waiting to welcome me home! 🐶🐶 Sometimes I have to stop and wiggle twice because it feels like the best dream come true… but it’s REAL! My forever is just around the corner, and I can’t wait! ✨
But here’s the truth: there’s another dog out there right now—scared, hurting, and just waiting for their second chance. Will you be the one to help them find it?
